It's good to see names and (some) faces from the 60's such as Gary Crabtree and Richard McCarthy from Dorm 4.

Hi, All! I just found out about this great website, and forum. My family was at lakenheath from 1966-1969. I know I saw most of you passing through the old Brandon Park Guest House (from approximately '68-April '69 -- when my mother was manager of that transit facility for military/civilian personnel and their families). A lot of families, lot of names and faces. I had worked part-time there even before my mom took over as manager. We had stayed at the Guest House upon our initial arrival in April of '66, for about 90 days until we got our assigned base housing. We had lived at Newport Close (think "Newport" may have been spelled "Neuport," but not sure now). I had played tenor sax and baritone sax in the band under Mr. Wilson...who later married the French teacher. I last noticed that Mr. & Mrs. Wilson were still teaching per a 1979 website yearbook page. Does anyone know if they ever had any kids? Are they still teaching/or, when did they finally leave Lakenheath? Love to know. During that time I used to build and fly control line model airplanes on the lower grounds of the Guest House. We brats used to explore the woods, the old mausoleum nearby...walk and shop in Brandon, et cetera. Let me know if you ever stayed there. I understand the place is now a senior citizens home. 'Ta!

I lived in the 1st co-ed dorm in 1968-69 I was 1 of 12 jrs in a senior dorm, there were a few negatives. like cold showers, but the perks were that we were more excepted by the senior class than others. I also threw the shot-put on track, and rode the buses to and from home base to school
