So, we picked up my new bike yesterday. Alan drove it home on I-95 with no windshield, only driving 50mph (cos that's just what you have to do for the first 500 miles!), and in 55 degree windy weather that was threatening rain. I followed him in the minivan and kept the truckers from crawling up our ass. My darling hubby is 6'1 and my bike is a Sportster 1200 Low. Needless to say, he looked like Artie Johnson on the trike from the old "Laugh-In" days! We got home, I took it to a deserted parking…

I would LOVE to be at the reuinion, but due to my job, I will be unavailable for the timeframe of the reunion. I will be conducting platform instruction and running for the Instructor of the Month. Obviously, I can't leave. I hope to see everyone at some point. I have ran into many of you and I'm sure that I will still run into some of you. Have fun at the reunion.

Yep! I am 49 today! Happy birthday to me ;) To celebrate this momentous event, my darling hubby is buying me a new Harley. I had a Sportster (883 Hugger - I am still short you know!) and rode from 1998-2001. I sold it on 9-12-2001 because I seriously thought the world was coming to an end and I could use the $7000 to stash away. Fast forward to 4-24-2008. We went to a couple of local Harley dealers, saw the 2008 1200 Sportster Low, decided that it feels good and fits me so I decided that I want…

...is change, or so they say. How have you changed over the last 10, 15 or 20 years? It is amazing to me as I look back over the years (my how they have flown) at the events that I would guess have most dramatically led to changes in my understanding of who I am and how I relate to the world around me. Here is a quick breakdown of some of the milestones:
1) An awakening to my need for a relationship with my Creator.
2) At 18 years old, reuniting with my biological father whom I hadn't known sin…

If you could turn back the hands on the clock, would you take a 'do-over' on high school? I guess for me there would be reasons why I would, but then again there would also be important reasons not to.
Of course, hindsight is always 20/20 right? I mean, for starters, I would take back that delu…

I remember working at the commissary as a bagger back at Lakenheath. It was definitely an experience. Bagging helped me pay for my senior prom and other expenses during HS. I think back and remember so many people worked there but Von Williams comes to mind as the bagger with the most work ethic for a teenager. That man would work anyone's shift because he was about making that dollar and I respected him for it. The saddest part is I remember the cheap tippers more than anything. I remember for…

Okay, so how did I end up married to Christina? It's a long story, but I'll keep it as short as possible.
It's not going to feel short because of how I start this though...I grew up in a home of five kids - I am the youngest. My mom's third marriage anointed me a "military brat" at the not-so-precious age of 13. A year and a half later we moved from the town I had lived in since I was 2 (Tucson, AZ) to the UK. Talk about culture shock! My first friend in school was this short, black kid named E…

It's springtime and SPRING BREAK even! I remember what spring break meant in High School, but I dont remember much about being six and eight years old! My children have such completely different interests, that it is getting increasingly difficult to find things for them to do together. Instead, a friend of mine is lending me her cabin at the lake and we are going to go fishing! My…

On Monday, I attended the annual coaches meeting for the soccer league I've been coaching in for the last 5 years. My kids have never been on one of my teams. I do it because no one around knows the first thing about soccer and I enjoy teaching and seeing the kids play hard and enjoy themselves.
So what is one of the first things a coach does at the beginning of the season? They make up the practice schedule. I sat down with my work and personal calendars and realized that I don't have a l…

I've tasted black summer truffles and plan on purchasing a truffle as soon as they are in stock and a reasonable price -…

As I get older I find that my taste in activities gets more eclectic. For instance, I play bridge. Bridge is commonly considered to be an old ladies game and it is true that most of those who play are retired women. However, I have heard that the game is experiencing new found popularity on college campuses.
I first saw bridge being played at the local Elks Club where I was hanging out with a certain bar waitress (name will be omitted to protect the not so innocent). She worked on Wednesday…

So I sit here at 11:44 pm Eastern. It's a cold night and I just got home from work and as I walk towards my home a flash I memory comes to mind. And then I see Mildenhall and I think of Mickey's Tea Bar and then I see the Burger bar and I have not ran into the house to even get warm. My thoughts and memories are doing that for me…

I can't remember when they removed the bridge - sometime in the 80s? But I have one particular memory of that bridge. My sister Colleen, a GI (can't remember his name right now, but he owned a little MG) Mike Haynes, Mary Maynard and I were all packed in to the MG. Colleen and the GI in the front, Mike, Mary and I were in the back. We were sitting on the boot, with only our legs inside the vehicle.
