Profile

What was your graduating class year? If you were a dormie, which one?
1991
What years were you at Lakenheath?
1985-1988
Where are you now, and where have you been?
I live in a suburb of Rochester, NY. When we moved back to NY in 1988 I hated it, how can anything live up to England? But it grew on me eventually. When my son graduates I may contemplate a move to somewhere warmer.
What's new with you? Work, play, relationships, family?
I've been married for three years. I have an adorable smart son who is 13, and my husband has two fabulous redhead boys age 13 and 18. The only baby we have together is an adopted puppy named Zeus.
So as you can tell I'm surrounded by testosterone! I definitely try to do lunch with the girls often!
What did you do between Lakenheath and now?
I did things a little backwards, but I think I've done some catching up. I had my son Zane when I was 20 and went to college when he was four. I was a broadcast journalism major. I spent five years in news. 2.5 years at a local NBC Affiliate in Rochester, NY and 2.5 at NBC Network. I loved working for NBC as a national news writer, and had the chance to cover many national stories including Hurricane Katrina. I also freelanced for ESPN and Lowe's Home Improvement as well as a local magazine. I loved when I got to tell the good news and cried when I had to tell the bad. My skin isn't thick enough to survive abducted children, murders and national disasters. And my heart about broke every time I had to leave an important moment in my son's life for breaking news. So we packed up and moved back to Rochester and I went where every "retired newsie" goes. Public Relations!
I worked for a regional theatre as their Public Relations Manager and am now the Marketing Manager for a national non-profit agency. My job is fun and crazy. I still get to see my media friends all of the time, and feel the rush of seeing something I helped with on the front page, but I leave at 4:30 knowing I've helped someone and still get to see my son for dinner!
Name some old Lakenheath classmates you have contact with and will tell about this site.
Lisa Gies sent me this page, we try to keep in touch when we're not too busy being mommies. I've touched base with Brooke Weston a little. My brother Chris lives in Arizona with his wife and baby.
I miss Angie Weaver(Feltwell), Lisa Fjerstad, Kristy Shirley and Trendyce Wasbotten. I wish they would resurface :)

I did not know about this site untill yesterday so I don't know anything about a reunion. Sounds like fun though! I really enjoyed looking at your pic's from the old days. Two 13 year old boys! Things must be fun at your house! I'm glad to see you are doing well. Have fun at the reunion!

I'm unable to make the reunion (baseball schedule is crazy) so Im leaving you a note to say....Have fun!!!! Wish I: could be there. I do have on request though....Is there anyway that I can get some sort of look at the yearbook you obtained from a friend. I have been dying to get a look at it ever since I heard there is a copy lingering out there. I am willing to look via internet if someone has the time to send it to me. I would be eternally grateful to the person who sent me a copy. Or I would pay for the shipping as well, if someone had the time to make a copy at say, Kinkos? Anywho, let me know if this is possible. Gotta get back to work......Later.

hey you! Gosh it's been a long time. I'm doing great. I'm so glad I was told about this site It's AWESOME. I have wondered many times about so many of my old friends. I've always told people that I had the best friends when I lived in England. It's great to see how everyone is doing. You look great!
