The Hump Back Bridge on the Way to Feltwell

I can't remember when they removed the bridge - sometime in the 80s? But I have one particular memory of that bridge. My sister Colleen, a GI (can't remember his name right now, but he owned a little MG) Mike Haynes, Mary Maynard and I were all packed in to the MG. Colleen and the GI in the front, Mike, Mary and I were in the back. We were sitting on the boot, with only our legs inside the vehicle. It was a warm, windy summer day and we were driving through the countryside with the music blaring… Continue

Brigid,

I saw the comment you left for Chris Dragich and was wondering if you ever came across my father at Mildenhall. He is Lt.Col (R) David Miller. He was the Dep Chief of Maint and then moved to Logistics for the 100th in '91 or '92. Just curious.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Bridgid,
This is certainly an exciting time. I will not be going to Denver but I was very happy to be invoved in electing who will be representing us from Maine. I did phone banking in NH and ME and was a co-captain for our town caucus where I spoke in support of Obama.
The caucus procedure is quaint when the numbers aren't huge, but it was very lengthy and cumbersome this year.
I really feel like the country is on the verge of a real sea change like we had in the 60's and 70's. I am going to stay involved and do what I can until November.
I'm also interested in trying to raise awarreness of the health risks we brats were exposed to while living on military bases. I know your family has dealt with cancer. Check out the TCE Blog and let me know what you think. Pease AFB is now a superfund site and Lakenheath has had TCE groundwater contamination.
My concern is for our fellow brats who may not have decent health insurance and should be screened for early detection.
Well, it's a beautiful morning here and I'm going to get my lab Una (like the name? out for a walk. Hope to hear from you when you have time.

Hey Bridge,

Yeah, I think my Mum knows where Tracy is. Her mum passed away some time ago and as you may, or may not know, she was my Mum's very best friend. I'll see her tomorrow for Mother's Day and I'll ask how we might find her.

Hi Bridgid, happy you remembered! Yea, I remember bussing those tables and laughing with you all. When I saw pictures of you, Keith, Randy and Mary I had to smile. We shared the same friends. In fact Mary lived a couple houses down from me on base. I also worked at the Liberty club a short time. Oh...the memories came back. Thanks. Michelle

I thought maybe you might have been a Hilliary Clinton fan. What sort of work did you do in the Air Force? Did you get your Masters degree? What major areas of study did you pursue? I talked to my Brother Danny Yesterday, attempting to get him on line. This will take some work, good news is that he does have a computer in the home. He said to say hi. to you and your sisters. Again, glad to hear from you and Collen.

HI, Bridgid
Nice to hear from you. I See, Woodlands way was the name of our neighborhood, thanks, for the memory. How did you end of right back in Lakenheath? England to So Dakota to So. Calif. were culture shock after culture shock. Then to top it off, I went to Corpus Christi Texas. People always ask me where I'm from. I speak, British slang, East coast slang,( My wife is from Rhode Island), Texas and Missouri southern slang, and finally the dull Calif. proper English poo poo. Its all fun. All shucks, I forgot afro American slang, and a little Spanish tilt. Lastly I read that you are very interested in American Politics. Where might you stand? I wonder- a strong good looking Irish (Catholic?) American Military (Air Force) Women. Have a wonderful week. What ever politics you like, you have my blessings.

Hi Bridgid, The proposal looks very good. Yes, I'll be happy to help in any way I can. Let me know. I replaced one of the picutres with a better copy. It is the one of a group of us at the carnival. I'm not sure what was on Pat's knee but I have a copy without that mark on it which I posted. I'll post any more photos of interest if I come across them. Take care. Jane
BTW...My mom lives down the street from Wickham Park and I am usually there over that weekend every year because it is her birthday weekend but this year she is coming up here because I'm busy with school! I can't believe it!!!

Hi Bridgid,

Yeah, I hope I can attend. Frank Kelley will be sending out information as it becomes available. Are you going to be there? If so, I will probably see you in April.

Kerry
