Profile

What was your graduating class year? If you were a dormie, which one?
1974 - Dorm 4 - from RAF Woodbridge
What years were you at Lakenheath?
1972&1973
Where are you now, and where have you been?
Near Denver, Colorado and I've been all around the world the past 30 years. We just returned from 6 years overseas - Finland, Iraq and Romania. The family stayed in Finland while I was doing the remote assignments. I tried to get home every 3 months and usually got 2 weeks off to take the family out for a nice vacation.
What's new with you? Work, play, relationships, family?
Busy at work and home - still have two children to raise, youngest is 7 years old. My wife, Paivi, is from Finland and we married in 1994 - we met the year before while both on assignments in Saudi Arabia. Children speak both languages. We are all involved in sports, music, scouting, and squeezing it all in to make it fun.
What did you do between Lakenheath and now?
I graduated from Arizona State University where I balanced my time between social activities and academics. I entered the Army (ROTC helped pay for school) and did 21 years service and retired. The past 12 years I've worked for the Pentagon, State Dept, Northrop Grumman, Oracle and now with Washington Group International (large engineering and project management company). I've been fortunate to work in and visit more than 60 countries on 5 continents and spent approx 18 years outside the good ol' USA.
Name some old Lakenheath classmates you have contact with and will tell about this site.
John Lapham, Renee Masi, Olga and Maya Wright, Liz Becker, Paul VanSickle, John Amundson, Louie Gracy - mostly 73 & 74 classmates.

Hey Butch,
I'm counting on you to come to the reunion in Sept....no excuses!!! I talked to Randy Wilson last week and he's going to try to make it. I'm so glad you’re enjoying Colorado; maybe you'll stick around for awhile and enjoy the good old USA! I'm sure your family is not ready to see you go back overseas!!!!!
I also talked to Lewis last week, he seems to be doing well all things considered.

Well, if you're into blazing guitar players, I have good news. Buckethead is coming to CO. in March. He's playing at the Aggie Theatre in Ft. Collins on March 6, the Fox Theatre in Boulder on the 7th and 8th, and at Belly Up in Aspen on the 9th. We're going to both San Francisco shows on 2-14 and 2-15. It's been over a year since he last toured, and we never miss him when he's here. He only plays small venues, and only a limited number of shows. I think you'll dig it if you still rock. Check out bucketheadland.com for more info and don't let all the wierdness throw you. He plays as well as anyone you've ever seen. And we have seen a few guitar players, no? Happy New Year, Larry Damman '72

Hey Skip-Good to see your name here. If I remember right, we were at the reunion in San Diego in 2000. Did we smoke cigars at the pool all night? Did we sneak beer into the dinner/dance? Did we visit my room a couple times with your friend who couldn't hang? I ain't copping to shit, but that's how I remember it. I had fun. Still have the motorcycle shop in CA. Still waiting for the next reunion! Take care, Larry
