Profile

What was your graduating class year? If you were a dormie, which one?
1976 but I graduated at Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio
What years were you at Lakenheath?
1971-1975. 8th-11th grade. We lived off base in Freckenham (a few miles from Mildenhall). Some times I wish I was a dormie or that we'd lived on base since it sounds like I missed out on a lot and a lot of you are really close. But if I had, then I wouldn't have met all my wonderful English friends (not to mention my first love). My dad was also stationed at RAF Wethersfield in 1965-1968. I was in 2nd-4th grade.
Where are you now, and where have you been?
I live in Springboro, Ohio (south of Dayton and Wright-Patterson AFB). I've lived in England, South Carolina and mostly Ohio.
What's new with you? Work, play, relationships, family?
I've been married for 18 years and I'm a stay at home mom of 11 yo daughter and 13 yo son. I keep busy volunteering at school and with their various sports.
What did you do between Lakenheath and now?
My dad retired from the AF back at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Unfortunately, my one year at Wayne High School did not prepare me for college so I went to work right after high school waitressing, a little factory work, and mostly clerical jobs. I worked at WPAFB for nine years and took classes part time at a community college (but never finished my degree!) until my future husband got transferred and we moved to Greenville, SC. I worked until my son was born and I've been a stay at home mom ever since. We loved Greenville (pretty scenery, good weather and not too far from the ocean) but my husband lost his job and we ended up moving back to Ohio since our families were here. I don't like Ohio at all but I love the family and friends here so I guess we'll stay for now. We do live in a nice community with good schools so I want my kids to graduate here if possible. While I'm glad I had the opportunities I did because of my dad being in the AF, it also was hard for someone who was shy back then. I'd like my kids to have stability and grow up with a lot of their childhood friends.
Name some old Lakenheath classmates you have contact with and will tell about this site.
Kay Smith and anyone else I can locate that isn't already on here. Anyone know the whereabouts of Anita O'Hern '77?

Great photos Rachel. We just missed each other (well, by about a year...) I left Mildenhall in June of 2003 for my final assignment at Scott AFB in Illinois. If this site had been around a few years ago I would have known you were near Wright-Pat when I was TDY up there!

On the other website there should be an option that says (forgot password?) and then I think it will e-mail it to you.

Well by the way how are you doing? Life here is upside down as my husband has been in the hospital for a while now. And that is why I have not been around on the site lately.
